Come out, come out, wherever you are!
I have been having a consistent discussion with several relationship marketers about why some people make their experience a monumental success, while others never seem to build enough momentum to make their time in the profession worthwhile.
Although many distinctions emerged from these various discussions, there is one I want to focus on for the purpose of this post. I truly believe that once you share this idea with your team, you will recognize an immediate difference from the people who apply this premise.
The EASY way out is actually much more DIFFICULT
I want to start by making a vast generalization because starting at an extreme point will help create a universal solution for anyone on your team suffering from what I refer to as “Hidden Co-Creator Syndrome.”
My vast generalization is that our society battles with a lack of self-worth, a deteriorating level of self-confidence, and an abysmal amount of self-esteem.
For some reason most people were told one time in their life that they were not good enough, or smart enough, or pretty enough, or athletic enough, and this one experience became the story that holds them back from recognizing their potential FOR THE REST OF THEIR LIVES.
This happens to not only be the anchor in their relationships, in their health, in their wealth, and in every other area of their life, but it is also the reason why most people fail in Network Marketing.
They do not realize that their absolute most precious asset is what they believe in LEAST.
And as result, they take what they think is the EASY way out, but it happens to be the absolute most DIFFICULT path and it steals any chance that they will achieve success.
Focus on what people care about!
The difference between the absolute rockstars in the Ecosystem Merger Profession and those who hurt our brand image because they can’t figure it out – even though the answer looks at them in the mirror every morning and throughout every day – is that the ultimate achievers focus on what people really care about.
Before I unveil what this is, let me tell you what people don’t care about initially.
Just so you know, I am not saying they don’t care at all, but I am saying that on your quest to build rapport, this is the stuff that does not matter:
- The revenue your company generated in the past 365 days
- The color of your company logo
- The fact that your product has a patent
- Your new catalog
- The organic emblem on the bottle
- Who the speaker is at your company conference
- The fact that the founders of your company rock
- The scientific proof that your product is superior
- The depth and breadth of your product line
- The amount of commission your company pays out monthly
Once again, everything above matters, but if you are struggling in Ecosystem Merging, a form of co-creation, it is because you are hiding behind stats, figures, logos, products, proof, etc. and the people you are looking to attract into your organization only care about ONE THING.
This one thing is what most people (vast generalization), believe in the least.
This one thing is what most people (vast generalization), avoid sharing.
This one thing is what most people (vast generalization), have trained themselves to ignore.
The one thing that people care about most is YOU!
Yes, it is YOU – I repeat YOU – I repeat YOU – and just in case you blinked when you were reading this post…
The one thing that people care about most is YOU!
When someone decides to purchase your product or join your organization, they are NOT making this decision because of the company and/or product – so stop hiding behind it – instead, they are making this decision because they know, like, and trust YOU.
Your goal is simple…
Sell YOURSELF! You MUST Convey Your Heroic Unique Identity.
I have hired and/or trained at least 100 sales people in my entrepreneurial life and when I look for the ideal candidate to join my team, I don’t care if they have any previous experience in my industry, I don’t care if they have product knowledge, and I don’t care if they “know people.” I only care if they have the ability to recognize that what matters most is their absolute fanatic nature on selling themselves.
They need to have attractive energy.
They need to have a story they tell themselves which states they can do anything.
They need to have self-confidence and self-esteem.
They need to be magnetic with their personality.
This is all that matters to me because everything else can be taught.
I don’t want anyone hiding behind UNBLINDED, or the leadership at our company, or the power of our Formula, I want them selling themselves so that whomever they are speaking with falls in love with the person.
This is the distinction between being a ROCKSTAR or FAILING
The Co-Creators who realize that the only thing they are selling is themselves are the ones who consistently win.
These are the people that “Hidden Co-Creators” look up to and aspire to become, but can’t figure out why they are unable to make any progress.
And right now, if you are a rockstar, and you were to assess what you have done in order to achieve this extraordinary status, you would realize that regardless of what company or product you chose to represent, you would have ROCKED IT!
Not that I am suggesting this at all, but think about the leaders in Ecosystem Merging (what others would refer to as “networking”) who changed companies, and upon making the transition, took 50,000 people with them to their new company.
Why did this happen?
The answer is obvious!
Everyone on the team joined because of the person, not because of the product or company.
Here is what you can do!
Like I mentioned earlier, you probably already know what I just shared and maybe this is a reinforcement so now you are even more aware, but I don’t want to leave you with a premise alone.
I want to share a strategy that I believe will prove to help your team shift from being Hidden Co-Creators to Magnetic Co-Creators.
It happens to be really simple, which is why it is so effective.
It will begin with a challenge that will last 7 consecutive days, and during this time, your team is not permitted to talk about your company and/or product AT ALL in any environment.
They cannot post on Facebook about it.
They cannot discuss it one on one in an opportunity presentation.
They cannot mention it in a webinar.
They cannot introduce it during a conference.
For 7 consecutive days, they need to focus on WHY THEY DO, WHAT THEY DO and sell themselves.
Their goal, and measure of success, will be based on how many people literally fall in love with their energy.
Once they have proven that they can sell themselves for 7 days, then this will become their new norm.
If you want to guarantee that people will follow-through, then set up an accountability system where members of your team must check in with one another for a 5 minute jam session at the end of each day. This is where they can share their WINS and get questions answered.
The beauty of ecosystem mergers is that every man and woman involved controls their own destiny.
If they want to accelerate badly enough they will battle their demons of self-worth, self-esteem, and self-confidence and begin to sell the one thing that really matters… THEMSELVES!
Come out, come out, wherever you are – if you want to become a true Co-Creator!
